About Allena

Who am I?

I am a Technical Artist with 10 years of experience in the games industry. My career began in 3D modeling after finishing an Illustration degree, so I have a solid background of art fundamentals. But even in university I always sought out the more technical aspects of digital arts; rigging, lighting, and games engines. My early jobs as a 3D artist also involved a lot of engine tweaks, rendering, VFX, lighting, performance optimization, experimental hardware and scripting. Since those early days I have focused solely on Technical Art and developed my programming skills in order to create tools and workflows to empower artists to create beautiful worlds and characters. I love working with game engines and solving problems for artists.

Personally, Technical Art appeals to me because it requires constant learning. I am motivated by learning new skills, software, or methods to leverage technology differently. I also love to share what I learn with others.

In my free time I pursue too many hobbies, listen to too many audiobooks, and like to walk along the cool California coast.
